How to Become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

The nurse anesthesia major is organized within the context of bet8九州登录入口's graduate nursing program and builds on the generalist preparation of the baccalaureate-prepared nurse. Graduates of the program will be awarded a 护理实践博士 (DNP) degree and will be eligible to take the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) National Certification Examination (NCE) for initial recognition as a CRNA. The program, once approved, meets or exceeds the COA’s minimum academic and clinical requirements.

Nationally Known Clinical Experiences for Students in Our Region

Students will administer anesthesia for patients of all ages with a variety of pre-existing conditions undergoing a full spectrum of surgical and diagnostic procedures. Clinical experiences include elective and emergent procedures, 叫经验, OB, 心脏, 加护病房, 区域, 儿科和农村轮转.

The program is pending initial accreditation from the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational 项目 (COA). The decision from the COA will be made at its May 22-24, 2024, meeting. If approved, the anticipated start for the first cohort of students is in the Fall Semester of 2024.

The Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational 项目 (COA) requires that all students matriculating into a nurse anesthesia educational program on January 1, 2022, or thereafter be enrolled in a program approved by the COA to award a practice doctoral degree.
